Trust Fund Application Guidelines

The Naked Possum Community Charitable Trust was established in 2008 with the prime purpose of improving the quality of life of the sick and the elderly in the Golden Bay Community.

Applications for projects which will help the Trust achieve our objectives are sought three times a year at 1 April, 1 July and 1 October. In order to be considered by the trustees an application must be presented on the standard application form, and received by the Secretary of the Trust, on or before one of the dates above.

In order to be considered for support an application must:

• Benefit the Golden Bay Community …. not just an individual
• Benefit the sick or elderly
• Show that the proposal can be completed in a timely manner
• Show that all necessary approvals have been, or can be secured
• Identify the persons responsible for completing the proposal
• Provide evidence of previous successful projects of the type if appropriate

The Trust Deed provides for some specific guidelines:

Purchase of:

• Items of equipment and furniture for the benefit of patients and their families in medical, rest home and hospice facilities
• Items of equipment to assist staff/volunteers in these facilities
• Medical equipment for use by ambulance, fire and other emergency services
• Transport services for the sick and elderly

However trustees may also consider proposals for other projects which achieve the intent of the Trusts prime purpose outlined above.

The trustees reserve the right to decline any application weather or not it meets the criteria, or to negotiate with the applicant for the purpose of modifying the proposal to better suit the Trust’s objectives. Successful applicants must provide proof of purchase, or contract of the proposed goods or services in a form satisfactory to the trust, before funds will be released. Funds not uplifted prior to the next following funding application date, or any later date agreed with the trust, will be forfeited. Funds must be used for the purpose for which the application was made. Successful applicants will be publicised as part of the Trust's ongoing promotion of its activities.
